Let’s Be Careful Out There

As you’ve probably noticed we’ve had a boatload of new customers over the past 6 or 8 weeks and they’re still coming.  Unfortunately, new customers all have one thing in common:  They’ve all been screwed by some other coupon clipping service so they don’t trust us.

I’m getting a lot of emails from these newbies complaining about how long it’s taking to get their coupons.  I am NOT blaming you!  I am telling you about this so you can protect yourself.

A good number of these complaints are because of the time of the month – Customers who place orders during the last 2 days of the month ALWAYS think they’ve been waiting too long if they don’t have their order by the 2nd of the next month.  Their emails always start with, “I ordered these coupons last month and I still don’t have them!”  These guys usually calm down when I explain that it’s only been 3 days.

But I am seeing a lot of later deliveries and I think it has more to do with COVID-19 than anything else.  The entire postal service is under stress right now and I’m sure they’re also short-handed.

Four Things You Can Do To Protect Yourself

Ship as fast as possible.  I know we changed the cut-off time to noon and we’re not insisting on Saturday shipping, that’s totally up to you.  But the faster you ship the less complaints we’re going to have.

Use a freakin’ tracking number!  Excuse my French but when you guys get those big orders – and even the small orders for those dang TIDE coupons – you are setting yourselves up for refunds when you don’t use tracking numbers.  Again, whether or not you use a tracking number is entirely up to you but without one I have no argument to give these people when they complain about delivery times.  You can take all the pictures you want but they don’t prove anything.  The only thing the customers – and Paypal – look at is a tracking number.

Talk to your local Post Master.  If I’m contacting you with a lot of complaints then there’s probably something going on at your local PO.  You guys have all been shipping a ton of orders lately.  It would benefit you to talk to your Post Master and see if there’s anything you can do on your end to make their life easier so your orders go out in a timely fashion.

Mark your orders “Shipped” so I can see it when a customer contacts me.  And if you used a tracking number, add that, too.
